Celebrating the Journey, Embracing What We Love.

For over 12 years, Dark Horse has been on an incredible journey. From humble beginnings in our little Kloof Nek rd space, to national and international exhibitions, collaborations with leading retailers, and  reaching homes internationally, we’ve poured our hearts into crafting furniture that wasn’t just functional—but part of people’s daily lives, their memories, their homes.

We always wanted our pieces to last, to be treasured and when the time came pasted down or given a new lease on life. We've defiently achieved most of that.

Every chair, every piece of furniture carried sweat, thought, and care. Every design reflected our belief that good design should be timeless, durable, and bring people together. And along the way, we celebrated amazing milestones: seeing our pieces in office, hotels and homes, being part of countless daily rituals, and knowing that what we made mattered to you.

But through all of that, one thing has remained constant: My love for fire, food, and the moments shared around them. The smell of wood smoke, laughter that echoes into the night, the joy of cooking with friends—this has always been a true passion.

It's been quietly building over time, as you know we test our products, refine them and enjoy them before sharing. Sonny's first iteration came in late 2023.

Today, we’re turning a page. We’re closing our traditional furniture range to focus on what lights us up most: outdoor cooking experiences. With our fire-focused range—Sonny, Cole, and the accessories that bring them to life—we’re shifting to create more than products: we’re creating moments, gatherings, and stories that will last a lifetime.

We’re excited about the braais, the parties, the adventures—and about growing a community of like-minded people who value cooking, connection, and making memories together. From recipes and tips to epic jol's, we want to share the joy of fire with you.
