We’re always in awe when working with Michelle Throssel and her incredible team.
Quick overview:
I started this Interiors Design Studio 17 years ago, with a passion for creating exclusive homes with a sense of laid back glamour. Over the years the studio has grown, and with growth has come the opportunity for us to work on a variety of high-end projects both locally and internationally. I consider my style as understated, pairing interesting finds with bold striking graphics and subtle tones. Every home, or space needs to tell a story.
Whether working on a commercial or residential project, the focus needs to be on a lifestyle of living, comfortable, and yet chic. Signature touches include the use of bespoke pieces designed in our studio and supporting local South African product designers.
South Africa really does have a great pool of talent. There are exciting times ahead for us, as we start expanding into creating our own product line, which will open up a whole new world of opportunities.
Favourite Dish: Love the Pumpkin Tempura with Honey, Chilli, Lime & Sea Salt.

A book that was written about my uncle, it captures the story of a internationally renowned conservationist, a man of many facets, a deep thinker and a student of Jungian psychology and an unflagging campaigner. He was a writer, a lecturer and an international conservation diplomat, and was deeply committed to all he believed in. Very interesting read.
A Grand Old Lady in Saxonwold in need of a serious revamp. The key to this revamp was to keep the orginal features, yet make a way for modern living. We wanted to create a slighty french style mingled with well considered pieces to create spaces with their own indivual spirit and soul. A look that would evolve with the layering of times. A very important aspect of this was to open up and integrate the Kitchen and Dining room. We wanted to create an open living space where the various spaces could communicate with each other. I think we achieved this successfully and the result was spectacular.
