What made you decide to bake Sourdough bread?
Having been stuck in lock down and itching to make something – Sourdough bread was an obvious go too. It takes time and requires attention. So after a few YouTube searches I found some great tutorials and gave it a try.
How long does it take you?
My starter took a lot longer to come to life. The average recommended time is 7 – 10 days but mine only worked at around two weeks.
Have you always baked.
No
How easy is it?
I would say it takes some practice – I only managed a winning loaf on my 3rd attempt. The dough prep is approx 3+ hours long, so depending when you start and when you want your loaf will also play a roll.
What advice do you have for anyone wanting to try?
Start with a small loaf in a casserole pot / dutch oven. This way you won’t waste ingredients or have a large dud loaf. I would highly recommend watching these videos:
